Challenge Me Monday #133

Hello everyone and welcome back to another Challenge Me Monday over at FCCB!  This week's theme is Down on the Farm.  We want to see you farm animal inspired projects.  For my card, the base of the card was cut at 4"x5.5".  The cow came from Create a Critter and was cut at 3.5".  The mat I used came from Elegant Edges and the party hat came from Celebrations.  I added some twine, stickles to the hat, and glossy accents to the cow.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time and adorable cow face from Peachy Keen.

PKS Anything Goes

Hello everyone!  It has been forever since I have been crafting.  I was going through serious withdrawals.  This weekend, I managed to make three cards for Peachy Keen's challenge and release challenges.  It was so nice to take some time and be creative again.  It was much needed!

The other two cards I made are for the stamp release challenges going on at the Peachy Keen Connection.  The first one was to use a background stamp.  I paper pieced the clock and used Rich Cocoa Momento ink on the background paper to stamp the numbers.  I am quite impressed with how well the ink matches the paper.  It almost looks like it's part of the paper.

Challenge Me Monday & Winner!

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge at FCCB!  I hope you all are enjoying your holiday weekend!  This week's theme is On The Job.  We want to see your occupation inspired projects.  For my card, I used both my Cricut and Silhouette.  My Gypsy was not cooperating and my cartridges are so unorganized.  I didn't realize how reliant I was on it until it decided not to work.  The matted images came from Elegant Edges and the nurse is a Lettering Delights Simple Shapes file.  I stamped a Peachy Keen face on her, added some twine, glossy accents, and some doodling.

Before I forget, I used Random.org to draw the winner from the Cricut Crawl.  Congrats Kim!  I will send you an email shortly so I can get your cartridge in the mail!

FCCB Back to School Cricut Crawl

Welcome to Saxey Designs and the EIGHTH Fantabulous Cricut Crawl...Fantabulous Cricut's version of a Blog Hop! 

Summer is coming to an end and we are all getting ready for BACK TO SCHOOL...each Design Team member will be featuring an original BACK TO SCHOOL Project that includes a SCHOOL RELATED  Item, such as crayons, rulers, pencils, book, school bus, etc. along with at least ONE Cricut Cut.

How fun is that?

For my project I made an adorable classroom decoration for my mom's classroom.  I found plastic containers in the dollar bins at Michaels.  They almost look like cup coolers.  I took crayons and hot glued them all the way around the container.  The container is filled with vase rocks for weight.  The images all came from Peachy Keen's August SOTM and were colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  To mat each image, I used Elegant Edges and resized the image to fit each shape.  I used foam mounting tape to adhere the images to dowels.  The dowels were cut to the desired length based on how it looked.  To finish the project, I added some glossy accent to the eyes and a bow around the container.  I think it will be the perfect addition to my mom's classroom.

Hello everyone!  I hope you all are having a wonderful Monday.  Since Friday night I have keeping myself occupied watching the Olympics.  I absolutely love the summer Olympics, especially track and field.  The last two nights, I have been pretty addicted to diving.  I was in awe of the synchronized divers, so cool!  In between events tonight, I squeezed in a quick card for Peachy Keen's anything goes challenge.

Challenge Me Monday #120

Hello everyone!  It's time for another wonderful challenge here at FCCB!  I actually have two cards to share with you today.  This first one I did for the DT post at FCCB.  This week we want to see your projects with a sun on them.  Here in the midwest we have had no shortage of sun.  Temperatures have been in the triple digits for weeks now.  I am really beginning to look forward to fall.  
The base of my card was cut at 5"x6.5".  The mat I used came from Elegant Edges, sand from Everyday Paper Dolls, and the rest came from Sesame Street Seasons.  I inked the sand to make it look more realistic with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  You can't really tell from the picture but I added glossy accents to the sunglasses.

The next card I have to share with you is one that I wish I didn't have to make.  My son is in a very active boy scout troop.  One of the leader's whose son was in Afghanistan lost him on Wednesday from wounds caused by an IED explosion.  I personally did not know their son.  However, when news of my husband's deployment spread Randy talked to me about him.  He then gave me his wife's card and told me that if I ever wanted to have lunch or talk with someone who was going through the same thing to give her a call.  My heart breaks for their family as they are living every military families' worst nightmare.  Please keep the Wyatt family in your thoughts, I can't imagine what they are going through.

Challenge Me Monday

Hello everyone and welcome to another Challenge Me Monday at FCCB!  I can't believe it's already July.  The temperatures around here have been so hot and we decided to spend the day at the pool.
Since July 4th is two days away, this week we want to see your 4th of July inspired projects (make a project with a firework, sparkler, or other big "boom" project).  I made a card for my husband who is currently deployed.  I try to make sure to send him something from home every week.  This week's challenge made the perfect 4th of July card to send to him.
The base of my card was cut at 5"x6.5".  I resized the border in my gypsy to fit the width of my card.  The firework came from Sweet Treats and was cut at 3.5".  I stamped the firework with a cute little Peachy Keen face, added some buttons, twine, doodling, glossy accents, and chalk.

Challenge Me Monday

Hello everyone and welcome to another Challenge Me Monday at FCCB!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  It felt like summer here.  We had temperatures in the 90's!  It did not make for pleasant yard work this morning!

I can't believe May is already here.  Mother's Day is just around the corner and we want to see your projects for that special woman in your life.  This was the perfect time for me to play with the new dies from My Creative Time.  The base of my card was cut at 4"x5.5".  All of my matting shapes and border were cut from Elegant Edges and the flowers were cut in my Cuttlebug.    I curled the petals up on my flowers, added some buttons to the middle, and doodling as a final touch.

Hello everyone! My Cameo came yesterday and I am hoping to play with it today.  I spent all day yesterday stripping the stain off of our deck so we can restain it.  I finished it this morning and will let it dry.  Hopefully, I can get it stained and sealed tomorrow.  I will say that stripping the deck was a lot more work than I thought it would be.  Oh, the joys of home ownership.  I have a card to share with you today for Peachy Keen's sketch challenge.  Here is the sketch:

Challenge Me Monday #106

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.  Our weekend was pretty relaxing. I did manage to go through some of my crafting supplies and get some things cleaned up.  I ordered a Silhouette Cameo and it should be here tomorrow!  I am so excited to play with it.

It's Monday and that means it's challenge time at FCCB.  This week we want to see your projects with buttons and bows.  The base of my card was cut at 4" x 5.5".  The banners came from Birthday Bash and were resized in my Gypsy.  The mat was cut at 2.5" and is from Elegant Edges.  The cute little frog is a Peachy Keen Cottage Cutz die.  I added some buttons, twine, stickles, and glossy accents to the eyes.

FCCB Challenge Me Monday #105

Hello everyone!  I can't believe Easter is a week away.  It has really snuck up on me.  The only card I have done is the one I made for this post.  Yikes!  I will be busy today trying to get some cards made and sent out before Sunday.  

This week's challenge at FCCB is "Egg-ceptional Easter.  We want to see projects with eggs on them.  For my card, the base was cut at 4" x 5.5" and the mat was cut at 3.5" x 5".  The border and circle, came from Elegant Edges.  Both the basket and eggs came from Doodlecharms.  My eggs were cut at 2" and 2.5" and the basket was also cut at 2".  All of the eggs were originally cut out from white card stock and I used Distress Ink to color them.  To finish my card, I added some doodling and ribbon.
