FCCB Back to School Cricut Crawl

Welcome to Saxey Designs and the EIGHTH Fantabulous Cricut Crawl...Fantabulous Cricut's version of a Blog Hop!

Summer is coming to an end and we are all getting ready for BACK TO SCHOOL...each Design Team member will be featuring an original BACK TO SCHOOL Project that includes a SCHOOL RELATED  Item, such as crayons, rulers, pencils, book, school bus, etc. along with at least ONE Cricut Cut.

If you've come from visiting Kathie, you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start HERE.
Make sure to check out each DT member's blog for some awesome inspiration! There will be PRIZES along the way at our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant that submits a "Back to School" project at FCCB!

How fun is that?

For my project I made an adorable classroom decoration for my mom's classroom.  I found plastic containers in the dollar bins at Michaels.  They almost look like cup coolers.  I took crayons and hot glued them all the way around the container.  The container is filled with vase rocks for weight.  The images all came from Peachy Keen's August SOTM and were colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  To mat each image, I used Elegant Edges and resized the image to fit each shape.  I used foam mounting tape to adhere the images to dowels.  The dowels were cut to the desired length based on how it looked.  To finish the project, I added some glossy accent to the eyes and a bow around the container.  I think it will be the perfect addition to my mom's classroom.

PKS Box It Up

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  My sister came up and we had a crafty weekend, so much fun!  Peachy Keen is having a 3-D box challenge.  My husband is currently deployed and has a birthday coming up.  I decided to make an explosion box for his birthday care package.  Last October, we spent a week at Disney and I decided to use some of the pictures from our trip so he has a little something to remind him of home.

On to my box, I will warn you, there are a lot of pictures. :)  The box itself is a file from the Silhouette Store, Captain America is an SVG from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, and the other files are SVG's from Lettering Delights.  The box itself was super simple, I just resized the files to fit into the desired space on the box, put in some pictures and was done.  I am hoping he will love it!

PKS Challenge #30

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!  I have a real quick card to share with you this evening that I made for Peachy Keen's Pop It Up challenge.  I am trying to get as many Christmas cards done as early as possible.  This adorable elf is an SVG file from My Scrap Chick.  The background mat is a file from the Silhouette Store.  I added some twine, glossy accents, some doodling and some pop dots to pop it up.  It was quick and easy.

Challenge Me Monday #124

Hello everyone and welcome back to another FCCB challenge!  I am running a bit behind with my post today.  For the last two weeks I have been glued to the television screen watching the Olympics.  I have always loved the Olympics, especially the summer games.  My favorite events are gymnastics, swimming and track and field.  I must say that although I was add to see the games end last night I will enjoy going to bed at a more reasonable hour.  This week at FCCB we want to see your Olympic or sports inspired projects.

Lots of Peachy Keen Goodness

Hello everyone!  I hope you all are having a wonderful week!  I spent most of the morning watching the Olympics and making cards.  I actually have three to share with you today.  The first one is for the color challenge at the Peachy Keen blog.  The other two are for the Peachy Keen challenges going on over at the Peachy Keen Connection.  Here is the color palette they gave us to work with:

Here is the card I made.  The adorable bear is an SVG from My Scrap Chick's Birthday Bear collection.  I used clear embossing powder and heat embossed Peachy Keen's Lattice Background on the orange mat.  For the face, I used Peachy Keen's Cute and Cuddly assortment.  I added some twine, glossy accents to the face, and some doodling.

The first challenge at Peachy Keen Connection is a sketch.  Here is the sketch:

Here is the card I made:

The second challenge is to use three patterned papers and have a special fold.  The card is a Lori Whitlock file from the Silhouette Store.  The adorable candy corn is an SVG from Lettering Delights.  I used My Creative Time's scallop and circle die for the band that goes around the card.  The adorable face is from Peachy Keen's Cornies Assortment.

I hope you enjoyed my projects.  Thanks for stopping by and have a good night!
