Be Mine

Hello everyone!  I have a card to share with you today that I am entering in some challenges.  The Peachy Keen blog gave this photo for project inspiration.  It reminded me of the tea party in Alice in Wonderland.

This is what I came up with.  The teacup I used came from Disney's Dreams Come True cartridge and the mouse came from Birthday Bash.  Originally the mouse was holding a sucker and I replaced it with a heart and those cute little layering tags from My Creative Time.  To finish the card up, I added some chalk to his cheeks, glossy accents to his eyes, and some doodling.

Let's Hear it for the Boys

Hello again everyone!  I have another card to share with you today and one that steps out of my comfort zone.  Masculine cards are so much harder for me to do.  However, my brother-in-law's birthday is coming up and I needed a card.  I kept this one pretty simple.  All of the cuts came from the Nifty Fifties cartridge.  The only other details I added was some doodling and some distress ink to the sentiment.

It's My Day and I Can Do Anything I Want

Happy Tuesday everyone!  The weather outside today was absolutely gorgeous.  My pup and I snuck outside a couple times to run around in the backyard.  I did get some crafting done today as well.  I bought Rock Princess forever ago and used it for the first time today.  I have wanted to use this image for awhile now but never found the right card.  However, I saw this mat image in Elegant Edges and thought she would look perfectly on it.  As for the details, I added some jewels with my I-rock tool, tied some bakers twine and of course added some doodling.  I think that star paper fits her perfectly. :)

I Love You With All My Heart

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!  I have a card to share with you today.  As I am sure many of you know, Peachy Keen Stamps now has a stamp of the month club.  I always love their stuff and joined right away.  I always look at their design team's blogs and have seen some beautiful coloring with copic markers.  Personally I know very little about coloring with them but I want to get into it so badly.  However, I am a little intimated by the whole process.  I have seen people get fabulous results coloring with Prismacolor pencils.  I thought this might be a good place to start and recently bought some at Michaels.  The skin and hair still needs a bit of work but I have to say this might be a new addiction.  Once I get the hang of this, I am off to conquer copics.  I left my card pretty simple.  The angel is matted with a Cricut cut from Elegant Edges.  Once my angel was colored, I used a Prismacolor colorless blender marker to blend.  The sentiment is stamped on white card stock with Spun Sugar distress ink around the edges.  I added some ribbon and doodling around the edges.

Altered Frame

Hello all!  I hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday!  Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous for Missouri in January.  As for today, winter is officially back.  I have an altered frame to share with you today. This is my first attempt and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  A good friend of mine is pregnant with baby number two and I wanted to make them something for the nursery.  I bought this frame at Michaels and now wish I had taken a picture of it before.  This particular frame worked out nicely as it fits a 12 x 12 sheet of paper perfectly.  I first took the glass out of the frame and in pencil I traced around the 5 x 7 rectangle for the picture.  Once the picture portion was traced, I cut it out and attached the paper to the frame with Modge Podge.  I let the frame sit over night and then added the other images to the frame with Modge Podge.  As for the images, I used the following cartridges;  Create a Critter, Baby Steps and Pooh and Friends.  It is kind of hard to tell from the picture but I clear embossed swirls on the clouds to give them some extra depth.  I also inked all the edges with Tea Dye distress ink.  Once the frame was completed I sprayed it with Krylon's Matte Finishing Spray which I found at Wal-Mart.

Happy Happy Birthday!

Hello everyone!  I have another card to share with you today.  I really like the idea of cutting Disney characters out but I hate the tiny pieces.  I am not so good with the small pieces and I tend to get frustrated really quickly.  One of my New Year's resolutions should be to have more patience. :)  This one wasn't too bad though.  The base for my card is 5" x 6.5".  Pluto and Mickey were cut at 4".  The scalloped border came from Elegant Edges.  I used real dial size and resized it to the length of my card on my gypsy.  Lastly, I used my cuttlebug to cut a die for my sentiment to go on and added some doodling.

You Melt My Heart

Happy Friday everyone!  It looks like winter has finally hit.  I don't think my heater has kicked off at all today.  Thankfully, it is supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow which is good since we are taking boy scouts orienteering.  I did finally get some crafting in today and have a card to share with you.  The base of the card was cut at 5" x 6.5".  Both background shapes were cut from George and Basic Shapes.  One was cut at  4"x 5.5" and the other was cut at 3.5" x 5".  The popsicles were cut at 3.5" and came from Simply Charmed.  I added Vintage Photo distress ink to all of the edges and some doodling.

MCT Throwback Thursday #295

Hello everyone!  Friday is finally here!  I have a project to share with you for My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday challenge.  The challenge was to make anything sports related.  I first made I card that I hated and then decided to move on to another project.  My step-son plays soccer in the fall and spring. This year they had a lot of trouble finding a coach.  If I knew more about soccer I would have volunteered but I never played soccer and my high school was so small we didn't even have a team.  So, for my project today, I decided to make his coach a thank you gift for everything she has done for their team. All of the images except for the soccer ball came from Everyday Paper Dolls.  The soccer ball came from Sports Mania and the background from Elegant Edges.  All of the images were cut at 4.5".  I kind of wish I had cut them a little bit smaller but I decided to go with it.  I added some ribbon and buttons to the top and there you have it.  A cute little candy jar with a soccer player on it.  Who wouldn't want one? :)

Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday everyone!  This week has flown by but I am looking forward to the weekend.  We are having abnormally warm weather for Missouri in January.  It was 62 degrees and sunny today.  My pup and I decided to take advantage and play in the yard for awhile this afternoon.  Her favorite game is keep away with the frisbee.  I have another card to share with you today that I made for two different challenges.  The card base is 4" x 5.5" and the cupcake is cut at 3.5".  Instead of using a border punch, I resized a border in Elegant Edges.  All of the edges were inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I added a Peachy Keen face and then some doodling.

XOXO

Hello everyone!  I have been feeling very uncreative since Christmas but I think it is slowly starting to come back to me.  I have my first Valentine's Day card to share with you.  The postage shaped edge for the came from Pack Your Bags.  I used the shadow feature and resized it on my Gypsy using real dial size.  The hearts and cute little bear all came from Doodlecharms.  I got some new Peachy Keen stamps for Christmas and used them for the first time on this sweet little bear.  All of the edges were inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.  Some buttons and twine were added to the hearts and to finish it up I doodled around the edges.

Super Simple Thank You Notes

Happy New Year!  I hope you all had a wonderful New Year.  I haven't been feeling well the last couple of days but I am getting over my cold and managed to finish our thank you notes earlier today.  These were super simple to make.  A little distress ink, a couple of stamps, and some cuttlebugging and I was done! For the background I used Peeled Paint and blended it with a blending tool.  I then stamped the Punched Tin background stamp, (from Market Street Stamps) with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink right on top of my inked background.  The die in the center came from My Creative Time and was also inked with Worn Lipstick.  The sentiment was a random wooden stamp that I bought at Michael's forever ago.  These were so easy to do.  I think I will make up some more just to have on hand.
