It's Friday! I so excited the weekend is here! It has been a crazy week with grad school applications due soon and the holidays coming up. I have a couple projects to share with you today. I wanted to make a couple of gifts for people on my list this year. I have always wanted to try glass etching so yesterday I did. It is so easy and the finished product is so neat. You will need glass, gloves, Armor Etch, a paintbrush, and a stencil or vinyl image. I cut the images out on vinyl with my Cricut and then applied the image to the glass. I did not use transfer tape but just peeled the vinyl form the sheet and adhered it to the glass. I then took the etching cream and applied to the entire glass (the glass will be frosted wherever the etching cream is applied). Let the glass sit for five minutes and then clean the glass with warm water. Discard the vinyl and admire your finished product. So easy! I made a couple of these. All of the supplies I bought at Hobby Lobby. This first one is for my husband's grandma for Christmas. She loves snowmen. The image came from A Child's First Year. The glass I bought has an opening in the bottom and a light fits perfectly. I added some ribbon to the top and called it done! Here is the finished product:
This next one I made for my neighbors. They are always looking out for us and love MU football. The football came from Life's A Party and I used the font from Birthday Bash.
